Who are suitable to apply for admission to the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre? Is it only for cancer patients?

The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre (JCCRC) is a nursing home registered with the Department of Health, operated on a self-financed but non-profit making basis. We serve both cancer and non-cancer patients. Adults aged 18 or above with the following needs are suitable to apply for our service:

– Long-term or respite nursing care
– High level of dependency in activities of daily living
– Rehabilitation care for stroke and brain injuries
– Palliative care for cancer or other illnesses

How to apply for admission to the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre (JCCRC)?

The application method is simple:

  1. Please complete the Doctor's Referral Form doctor’s referral form and return it to us by fax (3921 3722) or email (jccrc@hkacs.org.hk).
  2. Within 2 working days after receiving the completed referral form, we will contact the applicant and arrange a visit to JCCRC, during which details of our services will be introduced and our nursing staff will collect further information on the patient’s condition.
  3. If the patient is suitable for admission to JCCRC, we will arrange admission accordingly.

Is there a charge for the application process?

The application process is free. We only charge the fees for using our services after admission.

How long does it take to apply for admission to the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre?

It depends on our room availability. In general situation, patient can admit within 3-5 working days after we have received the doctor’s referral form.

Is there any financial assistance for patients to apply for?

The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre is operated on a self-financed but non-profit making basis. Thanks to the generosity of some benevolent individuals & organizations in Hong Kong in support of our Charity Bed Programme for financially disadvantaged patients. How long can I stay at the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre?

There is no restriction on the duration of stay but with a minimum period of 5 days. Patients can choose to admit with 5-day package or on monthly basis.

What do patients need to bring along on admission?

Patients need to bring their personal toiletry items including body wash, shampoo, body lotion, paper towels, face towels, toothpaste, tooth brush, comb, nail clipper, shaver, adult diapers (if necessary) and wet wipes.
Pajamas and bath towels will be provided by us. Patients should bring their own coats and slippers. If necessary, patients should also bring their own underwear, casual wear, socks and shoes. JCCRC will not be responsible for the cleaning of patients’ brought-in clothing.

What are the visiting hours?

From 11:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If the patient is not a Hong Kong resident, can he/she apply for admission to the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Centre?

Yes, but an additional 30% accommodation fee would be charged.
